artist's
statement
My work has always been quite representational. I consider
myself to be a strictly visual artist as I am drawn to
the tangible world - architectural forms, interiors, landscapes,
and common place objects such as kitchen utensils and
tools, always influenced by light and shadow. Long ago
I switched from brushes to a palette knife, which I favor
for its directness and simplicity, bringing out the essence
and eschewing unnecessary details.
